Roof-mounted fans are available in a wide variety of specifications and configurations, offering broad applicability. They can be selected and customized to meet specific requirements regarding the installation environment, airflow volume, pressure, and noise levels.
1. The foundation for the roof-mounted fan must be raised above the roof surface and feature a level finish to prevent water seepage or leakage. Additionally, anchor bolts must be properly embedded in the foundation prior to installation.
2. A 5mm-thick rubber pad should be placed between the fan base and the foundation to dampen vibrations. The anchor bolts must be fitted with spring washers to prevent them from loosening during operation.
3. The diameter of the duct connected to the roof-mounted fan's outlet must be equal to or larger than the fan's outlet size; it must never be smaller. An insect screen should be installed at the air outlet. If the fan exhausts air vertically upward, a rain cap must be added. During winter periods characterized by snowfall or freezing temperatures, the fan must be operated frequently to prevent heavy snow accumulation from blocking the air outlet.
4. The connection between the roof-mounted fan and the air duct should be made using a flexible connector (constructed from a non-combustible, flexible material). This connector should be no less than 200mm in length, and its diameter must match the dimensions of the fan's inlet and outlet ports. To ensure that the flexible connector does not twist or deform during system operation, it should be installed with appropriate tension—neither too loose nor too tight. In the case of a canvas flexible connector installed at the fan's intake (suction) end, it may be installed slightly tighter than usual to prevent it from being drawn inward by the airflow during operation, which could otherwise reduce the effective cross-sectional area of the duct.
