Inorganic Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) air ducts are classified based on the properties of their cementing agents into two types: hydraulic inorganic FRP ducts—manufactured using sulfate-based cementing agents reinforced with fiberglass mesh fabric—and air-hardening modified magnesium oxychloride cement ducts—manufactured using modified magnesium oxychloride cement reinforced with fiberglass mesh fabric.
Characteristics of Inorganic FRP Air Ducts
① Lightweight yet high-strength; non-combustible; resistant to aging and corrosion; features low airflow resistance and excellent sealing performance; aesthetically pleasing in appearance; simple to install; and offers a long service life.
② The raw materials utilized are exclusively inorganic substances; they do not burn when exposed to fire, thereby offering superior fire-retardant properties.
③ Inorganic FRP ducts exhibit strong resistance to corrosion from acids, alkalis, salts, and other substances. They are capable of adapting to diverse climatic conditions across different regions—particularly in coastal areas where atmospheric salinity is high, as well as in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, and synthetic fibers, where the air stream may contain or carry volatile media.
④ The product is non-toxic, odorless, asbestos-free, devoid of volatile organic compounds, and generates no dust during use; it serves as an ideal fire-retardant alternative to traditional duct materials.
⑤ Featuring smooth inner and outer surfaces, the ducts present minimal airflow resistance. They generate no secondary noise during air supply and exhaust operations, thereby reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs.
⑥ The product allows for on-site fabrication, cutting, drilling, and opening of access ports. Its simple installation process saves both labor and time, effectively reducing the user's capital investment and shortening the overall construction schedule.
⑦ It offers an excellent cost-performance ratio, proving more economical than ducts made from alternative materials. Furthermore, once installation is complete, the product requires no ongoing maintenance, thereby minimizing future maintenance expenses.
