A centrifugal fan is a mechanical device that utilizes input mechanical energy to increase gas pressure and convey gas; it is classified as a driven fluid machine. Centrifugal fans are widely employed in factories, mines, tunnels, cooling towers, vehicles, ships, and buildings for ventilation, dust extraction, and cooling purposes. They are also used for ventilation and induced draft in boilers and industrial furnaces; for cooling and ventilation within air conditioning systems and household appliances; for the drying and pneumatic conveying of grains; and as air sources for wind tunnels, as well as for the inflation and propulsion of hovercraft, among other applications.
A centrifugal fan typically consists of a casing, a main shaft, an impeller, a bearing transmission mechanism, and an electric motor.
Casing: Constructed from steel plates, the casing is robust and reliable. It is available in two configurations: a single-piece (integral) design and a split (semi-open) design; the split design facilitates easier maintenance and repair.
Impeller: Composed of blades, a curved front plate, and a flat back plate.
Rotor: The rotor undergoes both static and dynamic balancing procedures to ensure smooth rotation and optimal operational performance.
Transmission Section: Consists of the main shaft, bearing housing, rolling bearings, and a pulley (or coupling).
