As the name implies, a gravity louver grille operates such that, under normal conditions, its blades hang downward due to their own weight, keeping the grille in a closed state. When airflow is present, the force of the wind lifts the blades; the stronger the wind, the higher the blades are raised. Naturally, the direction of airflow is unidirectional—meaning air can only enter from one side—thereby serving a check-valve function.
The gravity louver grille acts as a one-way ventilation port: it automatically opens to exhaust air outward when airflow is present, and automatically closes when airflow ceases, thereby sealing off and isolating ventilation between the indoor and outdoor environments. Other types of grilles typically do not possess this specific functionality.
Typically, the louver blades hang naturally downward due to their own weight, thereby preventing air exchange between the interior and exterior. When the indoor air pressure exceeds the outdoor air pressure, the airflow pushes the blades open to exhaust air outward; conversely, when the indoor air pressure is lower than the outdoor air pressure, airflow is prevented from reversing direction and entering the room.
1. The fixed blades are designed with a 45-degree angle.
2. The unit can be manufactured in either a reinforced flush-mount configuration or a standard reinforced configuration.
3. The movable blades are hinged to the outer frame in a flap-style arrangement, facilitating ease of installation and compatibility with air filtration units.
