A swirl diffuser is an air supply component within an air conditioning system. In HVAC systems, it can be utilized to deliver high-volume airflow with large temperature differentials, thereby reducing the required number of diffusers. Typically installed on ceilings or overhead structures, it is suitable for low-ceiling environments (under 3 meters) but can also be employed for large-area air distribution in high-ceiling spaces—reaching heights of over 10 meters.
The swirl diffuser discharges a swirling jet stream, characterized by a high induction ratio and rapid airflow velocity decay.
1. Key selection parameters for swirl diffusers include the diffuser type, material, dimensions, outlet velocity, total pressure loss, and airflow throw distance.
2. Swirl diffusers are primarily manufactured from two types of materials: steel and aluminum alloy.
3. Key Selection Considerations:
1) Select the appropriate diffuser type based on the specific characteristics of the project, the required airflow distribution pattern, control performance requirements, and the intended air supply method.
2) Determine the required diffuser dimensions based on the necessary airflow volume (whether for supply or exhaust/return air), ensuring that the airflow velocity at the diffuser neck (or inlet/outlet cross-section) falls within the permissible range.
3) Verify the key technical performance parameters of the selected diffuser—such as throw distance, pressure loss, noise levels, and the airflow velocity and temperature differential within the occupied zone.
4) Determine the layout and installation method for the selected diffusers, as well as the method for connecting them to the air ducts.
