A jet unit is a device that harnesses the pressure energy generated by a high-velocity water flow; by accelerating the water through a nozzle to form a high-speed jet, it creates negative pressure at the suction inlet, thereby drawing in and conveying low-energy media (such as gases or liquids). This mode of operation endows the jet unit with several advantages, including a simple structure, relatively high efficiency, and ease of operation and maintenance.
The fundamental principle underlying the jet unit is rooted in fluid dynamics—specifically, the interaction between a high-velocity fluid stream and a low-velocity fluid stream. As high-pressure water passes through the nozzle, the reduction in the nozzle's cross-sectional area causes the water's velocity to increase while its pressure simultaneously decreases. In accordance with Bernoulli's principle, an increase in flow velocity is accompanied by a corresponding decrease in static pressure. Consequently, a low-pressure zone is established in the vicinity of the nozzle outlet; the negative pressure within this zone serves to draw in and propel the surrounding low-energy media.
